The kids were a whole lot of fun this Easter! They loved the concept of the Easter Bunny and having to find an abundance of hidden eggs! They were also very into the Easter story during our Bible studies. It was pretty neat to see them grasping the basics of Christ's resurrection and applying it to our "Hallmark" celebrations!
This year we changed Easter up a bit and decided to use an old tradition from my Mom's mother, who passed away when I was in college. She used to tie a large stream of string or ribbon to her kids' Easter baskets and run them through the house, with the end of the ribbon tying to the kids' bedpost. When they woke up in the morning they had to follow the string to locate their personalized basket. Mike loved this idea and went a little crazy with the ribbon... running the streams everywhere and making a true maze for the kids to wake up to! Well, the tradition is a keeper... the kids LOVED it! Wish I had gotten pictures of them following the ribbon, but it was a pretty interactive activity and required that both Mike and I be hands-on!
