FINALLY... Easter 2011!

We had an awesome Easter this year! We're so thankful for our faith on this holiest of days!

Only regret this Easter: We didn't take pictures at Grandma & Grandpa Orozco's... must have been having a great time to not have taken the camera out! :) Until next year Orozco's!

The Sunday School Easter skit... Blake was selected to play an angel :) ... this wasn't a huge thing with parents and such in attendance, I just happened to get lucky and brought my camera for my last day of teaching Sunday School! Amen!

Our tradition of Whopper nests!

A fun Easter craft for the kiddos! Their Bible School teachers called them "crosses with BLING!" :)

The kids making "New Life" cakes... since Jesus gives us new life!

Can't leave out dying the Easter eggs!

We put them out before bed for the Easter Bunny... with carrots too of course!

Would you believe that the Easter Bunny left behind evidence!?! That sneaky rabbit!

Easter at Aunt Jessica's... a fun time had by all!

Big Kid Beds and Austin's Crib...

Where does the time go? SO, it turns out that Blake is quite the tall dude and wasn't going to last much longer in his toddler bed... not to mention that he started to notice his friends were not in toddler beds anymore (note to self: do not take him to his friends' houses anymore!) ;)

Well, I decided to be patient and wait until Blake's feet were dangling off of the end of his bed before jumping into the twin sized bed for him. Oddly enough, the week of his 4th birthday my mother (Grammy Ross) informed me that she was getting two matching twin-sized beds from one of her sisters! These beds were special because they belonged to my cousins Audrey and Andrew (a brother sister duo), whom Blake and Addie know as Soldier Audrey and Soldier Andrew for their service in the Marine Corps.! Obviously these cousins of mine are grown and in their early 20's now, but these beds belonged to them when they were small! The kids were SO excited to learn that they would inherit them! Did you catch that? KidS... as in more than one kid... because although Miss Addison was not even close to outgrowing her toddler bed, she would be getting an automatic upgrade as well! What a special treat!

As you can see below, Addison's crib has also been reinstated as Austin's in the "Boy's Room". As soon as we feel it's safe to start putting Austin in his big boy room, Blake and Austin will officially be roommates! Blake is SUPER excited, although he's going to have to be patient, as we're in no hurry to rush the little guy out of our room! Addison on the other hand is completely content to have her room all to herself! :)

Thank you to my Aunt Gail for allowing my Mom to keep the beds in the family, and to my Uncle Stan for packaging them so carefully and in such an organized manner... but an EXTRA SPECIAL thanks goes to my Mom for hauling the beds to my house on her own and setting them up like a rock star while I did absolutely NOTHING! Oh, and I can't forget to thank my best pal Jen for stopping by and teaming up with my Mom to completely clean and rearrange the kids rooms into the way they're seen below! They worked for HOURS that day and night... may God bless them both! The kids have been in heaven since and I'm glad I've got these photos to give them a glimpse into their childhood rooms!

Austin's 2nd Month!

Slightly behind with our little man's update for the 2nd month, but we've been busy enjoying the heck out of him! At 2 months he is growing like a weed and changing by the day... the pictures below are a testament to that, as he looks like a different child from one photo to the next! Oh, and it helps that he's started to crack smiles on a more regular basis... it makes pictures so much more fun!

At 2 months he has moved his way into 3-6 month clothing and seems to be getting heavier by the second... says my back! ;) Austin is quite the strong little guy and is pretty capable of holding his head up to get a look around! He has also started talking up a storm with lots of coo-ing and goo-ing and enjoys running in place on his back, as it seems the scooting stage is on it's way... you know, one minute you set him over here, run to grab a burp rag or something and return to find him inches in the opposite direction! Exciting days ahead for Austy J! Speaking of which, he has also acquired a couple of new nicknames in his second month... "Porkchop" and "Porcupine" (due to hair issues)! :)

Blake & Addison are still very excited about the new addition to our family and are quick to smother Austin with affection! They have yet to request that we take him back to the hospital as I have heard other children their age tend to do! So thank God for their open little hearts and their willingness to help Mommy & Daddy! Austin is one lucky baby to have Blake & Addison as his siblings... and likewise, they're quite lucky too... just see the photos below... what's not to love about this guy!?! :)
