Blake’s actual 3rd Birthday was quite mild and very enjoyable! He was greeted in the morning with a giant muffin with candles a-glowin’ … the same as every other year! And as exciting as that muffin was, Blake knew that the day ahead would hold even more excitement! Why? Well, Blake had been anticipating a special picnic with his best buddy Kai! Keeping with his Disney theme this year, I made some simple PBJ’s in the shape of Mickey Mouse (Thanks Kristina… you ROCK!) and stuffed our picnic basket full of other such splurges! The kids were definitely excited by the piles of food, but more excited for the bubble mania we had planned afterwards! The kids spent the rest of their time together splashing in soapy suds and whacking each other with distorted bubble wands! It was fantastic… and most importantly, Blake thought so too! His special day ended with the dinner of his choice (Tacos with rice and beans) and a little store-bought cake! We had a few visitors stop by to wish Blake a happy birthday and then ended our evening with prayers of thanks… thanks for a most special 3 year old boy, who changed our lives in the best way possible on March 18, 2007! More to come on Blake’s 3-day birthday extravaganza! Note to self: NO 4th Birthday festivities for Blake! ;)

St. Patrick's Day 2010!
St. Patrick's Day is a favorite holiday of ours, partially because we've got some Irish blood in us (3 out of the 4 of us anyways) and partially because it's FUN! Another reason it tickles our fancy is because we're Catholic, and St. Patrick (though not actually Irish), is quite the Irish Catholic hero!
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I've let our Irish traditions slide, but our little Blake happened to be born the day after St. Patrick's Day and his birthday has seemed to take priority ever since! Nonetheless, we haven't forgotten the holiday altogether! Mike and I decided to take some photos of the kids in our yard for a fun St. Patty's Day photo... and Lord knows, I wouldn't have gotten a single good shot without Daddy around! He's the life of our photoshoots... and his hands are known for some serious ticklin'!
As for the actual Irish holiday, we of course sported the green and indulged the kids with a festive breakfast of green eggs with green milk! Considering their familiarity with Dr. Seuss, they were beyond thrilled! :) Oh, and in the evening, Daddy led us in prayer as we thanked St. Patrick for driving the snakes (Pagans) out of Ireland, and ended with a hearty "Erin Go Bragh!" Until next year...

We're Still Alive!
For those who keep asking... YES, we're alive and well! As it turns out, moving is a lot of work! Especially when you've got precious cargo... a.k.a. KIDS! In all honesty, we've had an awesome move, a TON of help (extra special thanks to Grandpa Blake & Uncle Cameron!), and the kids have settled in without skipping a beat! As soon as we dig our camera out of one of these here boxes, we'll get back to our regularly scheduled program! In the meantime, here's some shots of the kids... you know... "moving"... we hope this will be a special memory for them... one of transition and excitment!
