This year we gave more thanks than we're capable of mentioning!
But our "thanks" did have a focus. Our focus was on the simple things, because if we've learned anything from our children it's that time goes by too quickly... and quite frankly, these years where our children are young, are numbered.
So, we gave thanks for all things we've chosen to keep simple in our
livesbecause it's the "simple" that allows us to focus on what really
matters... family, friends, and the true reason for EVERY season... Jesus.
And our children may be young, but they're starting to get it...
truly get it! Blake woke us up the Sunday after Thanksgiving with this piece of information:
Blake: "Mama, we gonna go to church!"
Mommy: "That's right Blake! We're going to see Jesus!"
Blake: "Yeah, I love the baby Jesus!"
Mommy: "Me too Blake... me too!"
I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face for that one!
Just a solid reminder that all of our thanks should be to God.
Hope ya'll had a blessed Thanksgiving as well!
Where have all the pilgrims gone?Super nice job ladies! I'll learn as the years pass!

I made this pie in honor of my Great Grandma Jessie... she could make the most delicious pumpkin pie with her eyes closed, and thank goodness,
because with all of her vision lost, she had to!
With my vision completely intact,
my pie wasn't even close to the calibur of hers...
but I know she was looking down on me with pride as I gave it my best shot!

And these are the miniature pies I made for Mike's bosses and co-workers,
because his employment ranks ridiculously high on our list of things
we're beyond grateful for!
